I have spent most of my life in Mexico City and have visited many lively hostels, modern B&Bs, and boutique hotels.
I grew up in Mexico City (Ciudad de México CDMX for short) and lived there for many years as an adult, so I get to experience the different hotels or spa days in the city by visiting, drinking, and the occasional day spa.
With hundreds of options, visitors can get a variety of accommodations with unique amenities to suit different preferences and budgets.
In general, I advise tourists to stay in the central part of the city in order to have easy access to the main attractions of the city. Some of my favorite neighborhoods are around Roma, Condesa, Polanco and Reforma avenues.
Ignacia Guest House is the first choice for those looking for a home away from home.
Hostal IgnacioLocated in Roma, this is my favorite neighborhood in Mexico City because it has a lotDining room, bars and exclusive shops.
It is said that it was originally a Porfirian hacienda built in 1913hotel website, and is named after Ignacia, the landlady who has cared for the property for over 70 years.
The building impressed me when I first visited it as it looked beautiful and huge from the outside, but I thought the interior was attractive with its old stucco, warm colors and pink walls, as well as elegant art books and clay pots. decorative.
The property offers nine rooms at varying rates, including two suites with private balconies and two suites that share a private patio with a fireplace and Jacuzzi. Breakfast is included and is served in the dining room and there is a cocktail party in the garden most nights which I thought was a fun way for guests to get to know each other.

street. Regis Mexico City is my favorite hotel for a luxury stay or you can stop by for a delicious brunch at the hotel.
I'm herecity of st regis in mexicoDespite its location in Aleja Reforma, one of the main thoroughfares of the city, I found it surprisingly quiet.
During my previous stay, I worked on the velvet sofas in the lobby and ended the day with a cocktail at the King Cole bar, which had live jazz when I was there in January 2023.
I think this hotel is perfect for travelers who don't mind showing off and want to be seriously pampered. Unique amenities are available for each guestbutler serviceWho will take care of all your needs: My housekeeper suggested that I shower during dinner so my room would be ready when I got back. I also spent a relaxing afternoon in the indoor jacuzzi and spa on the top floor with great views of the city.
But even if you're not staying overnight at the St. Regis, I recommend you visit the hotel.Diana RestaurantI've been eating there with family and friends for years and it's my favorite brunch in town, with seafood stations, meats, desserts, and a bottomless selection of mimosas.

When it comes to lodge-style accommodations, Casa Pancha is a nature-inspired boutique hotel that hosts community events.
Located in the wooded commune of Condesa, dom panchyAn option for people on a budget. It is a boutique hostel with two private rooms and five dormitories for four to eight people.
At the hostel, you can stay in a more secluded private room or in a shared room where you can meet other travelers. The two private rooms have bathrooms and rustic elements, such as clay lamps and lace curtains. Each of the five shared dormitories has a shared bathroom. In my experience, the layout of the beds in the shared rooms sets Casa Pancha apart from other hostels with walls that ensure the privacy of the beds.
The common areas of Casa Pancha are comfortable to rest. There is a balcony lounge where guests can read and relax, and a larger terrace next to the kitchen where you can cook with other travelers. The property also organizes activities for guests such as yoga classes, food tours and dance classes.

W Mexico City is a stylish option with modern rooms and views of the city and a champagne vending machine.
for me one of the most importantIn MexicoIt is located in the exclusive Polanco neighborhood, next to Lincoln Park. Within walking distance of some of the main sites of CDMX, such asAnthropology MuseumICastle chapultepecI think it is very convenient for tourists.
The W is a stylish and modern hotel with more than 230 rooms. While visiting, I noticed what I thought were quirky design elements, like a vending machine with miniature champagne bottles in the lobby, and striking artwork on the walls. My room has bright cushions and paintings of gorgeously dressed models, and the bathroom has a stunning black and white bathtub.
For those interested in a spa treatment after a day of sightseeing, the Away Spa is available. It has an outdoor jacuzzi overlooking Polanco iwarm, a version of the traditional Mayan hut that I have only seen in a few other hotels in Mexico.

I love the outdoor pool and plant-filled terrace at the JW Marriott Mexico City.
DiezHotel JW Marriott MexicoLocated next to the W, it has the same location advantages, but for travelers looking for low-key luxury, this property is my pick.
It is said that 314 rooms have been recently renovated.Forbes,During my tour of the property, I was told by a hotel employee that other renovations were also going on around the property so as not to disturb guests.
The rooms are decorated in light, natural colors and many have floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the city. But for me, the outdoor pool is the best part of the hotel, since most of the luxury hotels I've been to in Mexico City only have indoor pools. I also love relaxing on the cocoon swing on the plant-filled patio by the pool while reading a book.

The Ritz Carlton in Mexico has some of my favorite views and I appreciate the attentive service.
The Ritz-Carlton in MexicoThere are floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the hotel, so it's no surprise that it has one of the best views of the CDMX skyline I've ever seen. The hotel occupies floors 37 to 47 of one of the tallest skyscrapers in the city, overlooking Reforma Avenue and Chapultepec Park.
Upon check-in, I was told that the hotel's goal is for guests to feel connected to the city. I could feel it from all the windows facing the park and the busy street.
My room had a large glassed-in balcony and a dining table where I could eat chilaquiles for breakfast while enjoying the view. There is also a restaurant on site.samos, and a trendy barSky Bar Carlota Reforma,It serves signature cocktails with what I think is the best view in the city.
Besides the view, another highlight for me is the attentive staff.hotel spaI felt very pampered when my waiter brought me tea and snacks while I relaxed in the indoor pool and prepared rolled towels for the sauna pillow.

For a cozy bed and breakfast, I recommend El Patio 77, right next to the trendiest part of CDMX.
I think seasoned travelers will enjoy staying atPatio 77especially if you have been to CDMX before.
In this eight-room guest house in the San Rafael district, I get to experience an everyday Mexican neighborhood, not a tourist-oriented hotel. This 19th century mansion is located away from the hustle and bustle of the most fashionable areas of the city, such as Roma and Condesa, but within walking distance.
For me, the highlight of the hotel is its small size and the personal attention of the hotel team. I watched the facility manager interact with guests as if she were hosting long lost relatives and offering local recommendations while guests played with her dog. At home I feel like home - I spent my free time in the living room of the residence with a cup of coffee admiring the elegant chandeliers and antique sofas.
El Patio 77 offers bed and breakfast accommodation in a cozy courtyard where guests can spend time. During the visit, I had breakfast with the property manager, who introduced me to the hotel's green practices, such as the use ofSolar panels and water reuse systemHe also told me that the Sunday brunch is open to non-guests and I plan to go back for it.
