Skyland is located along mile markers 41.7 and 42.5 at the highest elevation of Skyline Drive: 3,680 feet.
Accommodations range from premium rooms to small stand-alone cottages, preferred and traditional rooms, suites, and pet-friendly rooms; they are located in 28 separate buildings along ridge and wooded areas on more than 27 acres of Shenandoah National Park.

Room Policies:
- Pets must be registered at check-in.
- No more than two well-behaved pets (dogs or cats only) are allowed per room.
- Pets are not permitted in any public building and must be accompanied and controlled at all times in all public areas.
- Please bring your own pet bedding as our blankets are not intended as pet bedding.
- Pet food and treats should be stored in airtight containers so they do not attract wildlife and pests.
- There is a non-refundable cleaning fee of $30 per pet per night for pets in the room.
- Pets should not be left alone in your room unless they are in a portable kennel.
- For the safety and comfort of your pet, housekeeping will NOT clean your room if your pet is left unattended.
By checking in at the front desk, the pet owner agrees to the hotel's pet policy, is responsible for any damage or injury caused by the pet, and waives any liability if the pet or another guest is injured. It is your responsibility to read our full pet policy, as well as the full NPS policy regarding pets in Shenandoah National Park.

Of the 500 miles of trails in Shenandoah National Park, dogs are allowed on 480 miles. You have hundreds of options to explore with your dog!check hereon roads to avoid.
- Hike the Rose River Trail with your best friend, a very popular trail with canine families.
- Choose the Pampered Dog package to make your stay (and that of your dog) more pleasant. Includes daily pet fee, dog treat, Shenandoah collar, dog bowl, and bottled water.
- Head to the Shenandoah Valley to check out its pet-friendly wineries and sample some phenomenal Virginia wines.
- Join us for "Yappy Hour" on the Big Meadow Lodge outdoor patio for pet food and a special "Yappy Menu" for your dog. Available for lunch and dinner.

A Brief History of Skyland
Skyland's legacy begins in 1888 when George Freeman Pollock Jr. set out to find the perfect spot for a summer vacation. He calls the property's sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley "indescribable beauty."
Today, guests of Skyland will enjoy the transformation of Pollock's vision into a 40-acre property on Shenandoah Ridge, offering a variety of accommodations in a stunning national park setting. The Shenandoah River, the Shenandoah Valley, the George Washington National Forest and the Piedmont region are close by, making Skyland a timeless and treasured national park tradition.
